Far more than an apology was necessary here, but mom didn't even have her son issue one.

9-year-old kid breaks 19-year-old aunt's car windshield, she returns his birthday present, a computer, when mom refuses to pay for repairs: "You didn't seem to care that your son damaged my property"
I was entering high school when I got my first laptop. The intention on my parents' part was for me to use it to take notes at school and do my homework. Tech hadn't really been integrated as an essential part of learning back in the mid-2010s, so I mostly used it to play Neopets and watch YouTube videos. Nowadays, unless your kid goes to a very special school, it's expected for them to have a Chromebook, iPad, or laptop with which to complete online assignments or access the multiple educational apps that teachers use. Most schools hand these gadgets out themselves, pre-loaded with ways to circumvent kids' desires to use them for non-educational purposes. So, if your little one wants to play games, he or she will have to request a personal laptop.
In our story today, a 9-year-old boy wants to delve into the world of online gaming. Both his mother and aunt are more than happy to make his dream come true — that is until he throws a rock at his aunt's brand new car. When mom refuses to discipline him for his actions, she takes matters into her own hands.
